Liberating the mind through the five spiritual powers
Description
The five spiritual faculties, known as the ‘indriyas’ are faith/confidence, courage/energy, mindfulness, samadhi/inner collectedness and wisdom. They were taught by the Buddha as essential qualities to develop in the path of awakening.
They abide as seeds of potentiality within each of us, growing and guiding the mind toward awakening. This retreat will explore these seeds, whilst giving the time for practice, discussion and examples of how to explore these qualities in your everyday life.
Mornings during the retreat will be dedicated to silent meditation practice, while afternoons will focus on the teachings of the five faculties. Dinner will be non-silent allowing for the natural building of community and companionship between students. There will be small peer groups and the opportunity for questions in the evenings.
